Are We There Yet?

Today was the day that we left Florence and went to Rome. The bus picked us up at 9:00. Claudio was our bus driver again. It was very hot inside the bus. The air conditioning stopping blew out hot air. We weren't going directly to Rome, we were stopping at a place where we would have lunch first. It didn't go the way we planned.

Claudio dropped us off at the bus station, and we waited for a different bus that would take us up the hill to where we would eat lunch. It came, but about twenty minutes later. It took us up the hill and dropped us off. It was supposed to come back for Grandma and D-daddy to take them down the hill, after we ate lunch. The rest of us were going to walk down the hill.

We all looked around for a place to eat, but we couldn't find one. The bus didn't come back to get Grandma and D-daddy, so we all had to walk back down the mountain. We stopped for a break to sit down in the middle of nowhere, no buses in sight, and barely any cars. Dad, Meghan, Connor and I all walked down even further and we found the bus station that Claudio dropped us off at.

Soon enough we found his bus and then asked him to drive up and pick up everyone else and then make the journey to Rome. He said yes, and then everyone got on the bus. We were all pretty hungry, because we didn't have lunch. No matter how many snacks we ate, we were still hungry. We arrived at our hotel in Rome at 5:30.

The kids all played cards and goofed around until dinner which was at 7:00. Our rooms were nice, and I got to share one with Meghan. I like Rome, but I still think that out of all the places that we've been to so far, Venice is my favorite because it is so different from the United States.
