This morning we got on a bus to San Gimignano. It was a small medieval town that was very touristy. The locals were all dressed up in medeival clothing, the girls in long princess dresses and the boys in tunics. I was really surprised they were wearing them because it was super hot. It was early in the day but we decided to eat lunch there. My family got a mixed meat plate with ribs, a big piece of pork, sausages, a chicken leg, beans and a piece of bread. It was so good!
After lunch it was time to go so we went to get back on the bus. The bus took us to another town in Tuscany called Siena. We got there around lunchtime but since I'd already eaten I got a small but yummy Caeser salad with yucky chicken. I didn't want to go to the church so I had to stay in the plaza with my cousins. That was fine with me because there were so many shops that I couldn't possibly get bored.
Tomorrow is Father's Day so Helen and I went shopping for Dad. We dragged Connor along with us to ask if things were good gifts or not. The final verdict was on a beer bottle opener that said Siena in green, red and white letters. I think it's perfect! Then I walked around and got presents for my friends and I. Aunt Lisa and I both got little white scarfs with lace on the bottom. The lace is in little pinwheels on chains that are so pretty! After Siena we got back on the bus to Florence.
Tomorrow is our free day and I'm so excited!
