Free Day

Today was our free day. That was where we had nothing planned. Of course, us kids didn't get to decide anything. At the end, the decisions were made. Everybody except Mom, Dad, Meghan and I went to the armory museum, but the rest of us went on a whole day walk around Florence. It was fun.

The first thing that we did was that we walked to see a bunch of statues. My favorite statue was the one with Perseus holding Medusa's head. You see, Perseus was the one that killed Medusa, and he took her head because it had snakes that turned people into stone. I've always loved Greek Mythology, because everything that I had learned it out of was fun. I've read all of the Percy Jackson books, and I also used to have a really nice Kindergarten teacher who told me all these stories about Greek mythology.

After we walked through all the statues we tried to get into a garden. We also really wanted to go up on a tower, but it was really expensive so we decided just to go to the garden. As it turned out we had to pay for getting in the garden too. It wasn't as expensive as the tower so we did it. Meghan and I were really tired so we slept and relaxed on the grass while Mom and Dad walked around. After we got bored of the garden we walked around and bought some food at a supermarket. There was a long line, but the food was really good. We were supposed to have a picnic with the rest of the family on a big hill, but no one turned up so we ate by ourselves.

After dinner we watched the sun go down. It was very beautiful watching the sky change colors as the sun got lower and lower. When it fully disappeared it was clear that it was the end of the day.
