My Birthday

Today was my birthday! The day started out by eating at the hotel, and then getting up and walking down the streets. Our tour guide met us and she was very nice. She led us around and told us stories about the Venezians hundreds of years ago.

After the tour ended at 11:00, we met grandma at the gondola rides. All the grandkids were in a boat with grandma, and everyone else was in a different boat. We passed ladies that were in a different boat and they were singing at the top of their voices. It was funny because we had no idea what they were singing. The gondolier (person who steers the gondola) had put his earphones in the second the ladies started singing and he looked annoyed and embarrassed. We got out of the gondola and went out to eat.

After lunch we all went separate ways. I went shopping with Sam, Meghan, Connor and Jake. Grandma, Aunt Lisa and Aunt Tracy went to watch glass made. Mom and Dad went on a walk, and I don't know where Uncle Tom and Grandpa went. All the cousins and I went back to the hotel (we had two things of gelato on the way) and played cards until 3:30. Then we went shopping. Then we came back and played cards again until 7:00 so we had time to get ready for dinner.

Everybody else came back and then we walked one block to
the dinner place where we had reservations. We had a nice dinner (Grandma and I had gnocchi) and then it was time for cake. It was delicious. Grandma had gotten me an angel from the glass place which was very beautiful, and Mom and Dad got me earrings and said that I could get my ears pierced again! (I kind of let them close up before.) All in all it was excellent to spend my birthday in Venice, Italy.
