The Sites in Rome

We ate breakfast on roof terrace of the hotel with views in the distance of St. Peter's, not too shabby.  We had a tour guide and driver for the day, the first portion in the morning was slated for the Vatican.  The number of tourists was just amazing, long lines throughout the museum, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's.  Beautiful sites but the crowds made it a little difficult to enjoy as we moved through like cattle.  

We had lunch in a great deli just blocks from the hotel and got a short nap before the bus picked us up again for the afternoon.  The Colosseum was the highlight but we also hit a lot of the favorites.  I remember quite a few from my visit in high school.  It was a big day and we took in a lot.  This was the last day for Hughes 8 who would be flying out the next day.  We had a great final dinner together and Barbara was toasted for making it all happen.
