Staring at David

I had to get up at 7:00 in the morning, just to go to breakfast. We had to do that because we didn't want to get there when the big line appeared. After breakfast we left to go to the museum that was about nine blocks away. There, our tour guide was supposed to meet us at 9:00. She came at 10:00. We were just about to leave when we saw her sign that said Hughes.

She took us to the palazzo that was just up the street. We went inside the dome, which was built by Pippo, hundreds of years ago. It was beautiful. We left the palazzo and went to a coffee shop where I got a Fanta orange. Our tour guide got something that looked really good. I asked what it was and she said it was tiramisu, a desert that Italians always had. She said it had biscuits and yogurt and a hint of chocolate.

We went to the museum after that. Inside, there were three rooms. The first room was small, and it had paintings that were very pretty. That room had two doors that led into the other room. The first room was full of different instruments, and we all liked different ones. Meghan really liked the violin and I liked the piano tested that showed how the keys worked. We went into the other room and that was where they had the big statue of David. He was naked, and so were most of the other statues. Dad, Meghan, Connor, Jake and I barely listened to the tour guide and were mostly staring at David.

We went to the gift shop at the end and that was my favorite part. I liked all the little tiny Davids and the pencils and pens that had the museum's name on it. We weren't allowed to stay at the gift shop, sadly, but we continued walking to different palazzos that we had no idea how we got there.

The tour guide left us there, and it was hard to find our way back. Of course, at the end, we had gelato and then had dinner. Eleven of us got steak (it was rare) and Mom (she doesn't eat steak) ate some vegetables. It was a nice dinner, and I learned that I can't eat something that had blood all over and it makes me feel sick. Now that I think about it, I can't be a doctor, because I feel sick seeing lots of blood. Well, I can still try to be a teacher. Anyway, it was a good day, and I think my favorite part was seeing David.

Or eating gelato. Like always.
